Michael Porter

Michael “Guns” Porter is the newest addition to our London personal training team and has quickly established himself as a highly professional, “leave no stone unturned” coach who is always prepared to go the extra mile for his clients.  Great things were expected of Michael as he was personally recommended to Ultimate Performance by strength training icon Charles Poliquin who described him as “one of the very few British personal trainers I know who come up to your (UP’s) standards”.  Praise indeed as all those who know Poliquin will appreciate that he is not one given to excessive compliments!

As is the case with all the Ultimate Performance personal trainers, Michael possesses the rare and crucial balance of real world gym experience with high level industry qualifications gained in Canada and the United States.  A former junior Great Britain ice hockey player, he has parlayed his years of training into success in both powerlifting and bodybuilding competitions, and knows how apply all this invaluable experience to the great benefit of his personal training clients.

In Michael’s own words, his core principles as a personal trainer are:

“Expert coaching principles and sound nutritional advice is the key to transforming your body. Analysis of the client’s goal will determine the appropriate training stimulus coupled with the correct dietary and supplemental protocols. The size of your success is determined by the sum of your knowledge, belief and determination.

Continued research and development is paramount to the performance of a quality personal trainer. As a certified Strength coach under world renowned Charles Poliquin and now as a member of the elite Ultimate Performance team, I have been fortunate enough to learn cutting edge techniques in both training and dietary solutions.  Through investigation of the latest and most effective training systems I strive to stay ahead of the game.”
